The Unrequited Lover ..
Updated: Feb 24, 2020
You make me feel like the unrequited lover,
I patiently pace you round my mind, in hopes you find truth
But I don't wanna turn strangers to lovers before I can find you. So with stars in my bare hands I will draw you a celestial map I'll dot checkpoints in the night skies so you can make your way back
to me from all your potentials
But you get distracted by bright lights from neighbouring galaxies that emanate from distanced stars beyond their mortality but I guess that's just our reality like gospel from Shakespeare we are the masters of our own love struck tragedy.
I caught myself doing it again
My mind forming silhouettes of your countenance, my skin yearns the contamination of your embrace I drown in it. Infatuation of the way you move with grace
Do you feel it too? Tell me you feel the same
Tell me that you envy the sun and regard the moon with disdain-
For the sun kisses me where you cannot and the moon moves me in new ways. ways you have not.
It's a lot, I know. To be asked to peer through the unknown and deep into my soul to find there lies your mate
A true match to your half, an equal to your shortfall, your refill when you feel half empty from years of giving yourself to the wrong entities, your romanticised polarities characterised irregularities, your pretentious reality.
Would You, if I said come back to me?
Would you feed your flower of life with a beverage as sweet as this
Would you be able to see the real me without a gauze
Wipe the mist of societal expectations and you'll see what God made.
